5 reasons to not stress about stress, and how you can overcome them

Studies show that stress leads to faster aging, even in people as young as 10 years old!

2. It can shrink your brain.
You may already know that stress can cause emotional imbalances in your brain, but did you know that it can also shrink your brain? Studies have shown that people with high stress levels show smaller areas of gray matter in their brains, which is the part of the brain responsible for self-control and emotions.

3. It affects your dental health.
Many people deal with stress by grinding and clenching their teeth and jaw, without realizing that this causes their gums to deteriorate, and can often lead to neck pain!

4. It can be responsible for hair loss.
Typically, people that experience a stressful event also experience hair loss for up to 3 to 6 months.

5. It can cause eyelid twitching.
Have you ever had a funny eye twitch? If you have, it’s more than likely that stress is responsible for this weird symptom. Although these little spasms are painless, they can be quite annoying.

Now, if you want to ensure that you never get hit with these stress symptoms again…

Then ask yourself today, ‘What if I could surrender to the outcome (of whatever I’m stressing about), instead of trying to control it?’ Just by noticing that you are under stress lets you get more control over your feelings; so instead of it just taking over your state of mind, what i like to do when i’m nervous or stressed is take a couple of deep breathes. (i know you’ve probably heard it tons of times, but it really does work for the short term relaxation). In the long term, if you keep working on trying to not control the outcome of any given situation you will realized that it can’t stress you, and the more you practice this the easier it will become. And of course, meditation is one of the biggest relaxation tools out there that can almost eliminate all stress if you can find 10-20 minutes a day to meditate
